Sculpin by Ballast Point

Sculpin. IPA. Ballast Point. San Diego, CA.

Winter 2010/11.

My review on RateBeer:

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
AHTOH (24) - San Diego, USA - JAN 6, 2011
12 ounce bottle poured into Duvel tulip. Pours an undistinguished golden orange color that is fairly translucent. Barely-off-white head is fluffy with relatively lengthy retention duration. Nose is green apple hops, some grainy aroma along with resinous hops, and medium amount of malty sweetness. Hint of vegetable aroma as well. Taste is piney hops on front of palate. Grain and cereal mid palate. Resinous hops on back palate. Bitter finish. Finish has short duration. Mouth feel has nice and pleasantly lively carbonation. Overall, enjoyed the hop aroma and taste, though found this IPA, generally, a bit grainy.
