Hottenroth by The Bruery

Hottenroth. Berliner Weisse. The Bruery. Orange County, California.

Winter 2009/10.

My review on RateBeer:

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
AHTOH (5) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 10, 2010
750 mL. Poured into Bruery tulip. Beautiful straw yellow color. Somewhat cloudy, though far from as cloudy as Bavarian hefeweizens. Transmits light, though far from translucent. Nice frothy white head bubbles down to practical inexistence after a minute. Slight chalk-y scent, like some gueuze; though zero chalkyness on the palate – a positive attribute. Huge sour nose. Lemon. Subtle hints of floral and honey. Sour all throughout palate. Taste of lemon, sour apple. Refreshing and crisp mouth feel.
